Glas in beeld - rietveld paviljoen amersfoort (NL)
Glas in View is a crossover exhibition in which photographers visualize the working process of contemporary glass artists. 14 glass artists based in the Netherlands are paired with 14 photographers, creating 15 projects. Each project focuses on the working process of the glass artist, in the photographers' own style. The artists and photographers have been working together since January. Beside the images of the photographers, the collaboration between glass artists and photographers has also sprouted new work in glass combined with photography - true cross overs. The glass artists use a variety of traditional and artistic techniques such as glass blowing, kiln casting, lampwork, engraving, pâte de verre and mixed media.
This exhibition offers an introduction to a broad public to contemporary glass art, the working processes behind it and its creators. The fringe program brings lectures that highlight the background of and contemporary glass art, music and a young talent dance performace inspired by glass.
This exhibition is co-curated with artistic director of the Rietveld Pavilion Amersfoort, Hans van Helden and Krista Israel.
